Clarence Wayne Rautio

January 17, 1933 – October 31, 2023

Clarence “C.W.” Wayne Rautio, 90, of Floodwood, passed away October 31, 2023, in his home with his loving wife by his side.

C.W. was born January 17, 1933 to Wayne and Vienna Rautio in Floodwood, MN. He attended school in the Halden School House until the 8th grade, when he decided school was not for him, so his dad made him go work in the woods with him. He joined the Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1961. He had several jobs throughout his life from working on ships on the Great Lakes, construction, self-employed diesel mechanic, and how most will remember him, driving truck, which he did until he was 85 years old. 

He married Nancy on December 3, 1974, and had been happily married for what would have been 49 years this year. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Wayne and Vienna Rautio, brother Ronald, and son Eugene. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, daughters, Jennifer (Dean) Broten, Jessica (Gabe) Greer, Jamie (Bernie) Jackson. 10 grandchildren, Stephanie (Louis) Nutt, Benjamin (Sundus) Rautio, Jeremy and Nicole Rautio, Bryan Broten, Karlie (Riley) Doman, William Broten, Alex and Justin Greer, and Bella DeLeon. 3 great-grandchildren, Mila, Ariel, and Elon. Also, his sisters Patricia Thompson and Susan Randa, and brother Daniel Rautio. He will also be missed by his pups, Bugsy and Capone, many relatives, and 100’s of friends he made throughout his life. 

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 5th, from 11am to 3pm, at the Savanna Portage in Floodwood.
