John “Jack” MacFarlane

December 15, 1942 – April 28, 2024

John (Jack) MacFarlane born Dec. 15, 1942 in Robbinsdale, MN to Earl and Harriet (Price) MacFarlane. He passed away peacefully in his home on April 28, 2024 surrounded by his family at age 81.

He was a union painter for 30 years. He then moved to Aitkin in 1979 and did new home construction and remodeling. In 1981 he opened Countryside Motors in Aitkin and closed it in 1987. He moved the business to his home and built repairable cars and started a mechanic shop and car sales at that time. HE LIVED FOR RACING! He ran top Alcohol funny car from his teens until 1979, enduro raced, dirt track raced and then drag raced to the end.

He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Harriet MacFarlane, brother Kent MacFarlane and Carolyn Stone (ex-wife and mother of Breezy, Lonna & Lonnie).

John (Jack) is survived by his life long partner, Kathy Sommers, 5 children: Breezy Delvaux (Marcus), Lonna Holmes (John), Lonnie MacFarlane, Jackie Owens (Rick) & John Sommers. 7 grandchildren and 4 great grand-children, nieces, nephews and sister.

There will be a Celebration of Life Sunday, May 26th at 1 pm at Hazelton Town Hall. Lunch will be served.
