Walter LeRoy Anderson

March 25, 1940 – May 4, 2024

Walter LeRoy Anderson of Alborn passed away Saturday May 4, 2024 at home with his family by his side. He was born on March 25, 1940 in Duluth, Mn.

He grew up in Arnold, MN and graduated from Central High School in 1958. Walter then went on to serve in  the Navy for four years on the USS Kearsarge from 1958-1962 and then two years of Reserves.  He retired from WLSSD in 2002.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents Walt and Eunice Anderson, In-Laws Dick and Winnie Nelson, Brother Ron “Grub” Anderson, and  Grandchild Aprill Anderson.

He is survived by Wife of 37 years, Wendy, Children Brett(Janice) Anderson, Darren(Rhonda) Anderson, Shelly(Harry) Amos, Melissa(Joe) Lancour, step children Dave (Deb) Alander, and Julie(Craig) Gilje. Nine Grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Sister in Law Judy Anderson, Cindy(Tony) Vittoroi, Ted Nelson, Randy and Jean Nelson and many nieces and nephews he loved and shared his life with.

Memorials can be made in Walters name to St. Jude’s Hospital or Animal Allies of Duluth.

Our family would like to thank the Alborn and Meadowlands first responders and St. Lukes Hospice. Also a thanks to our many family and neighbors who reached out with much love and support.
