Brian Keith Jackson affectionately known at BJ or Beej, 55, passed away unexpectedly on Sept 20, 2026, in Proctor, Minnesota. Beej was born in Duluth, Minnesota.
Beej spent many years working for North Shore Wood Products and over 10 years as a carpenter at Northern Trends where he was loved by all his co-workers.
He found comfort and happiness in a simple life, surrounded by the people and things he loved. He cherished time spent with his family and friends, and you could always count on him to have a Diet Coke and a stash of mini Snickers ready to share.
Beej enjoyed the worlds created by The Wheel of Time, Dune, The Expanse, Star Wars, and The Lord of the Rings, enjoying both the books and movies that brought those stories to life. He was also an avid video game player, spending countless hours enjoying EverQuest, World of Tanks, and World of Warships.
He also had a lifelong fascination with space and the mysteries beyond our atmosphere. He was curious about what existed beyond our world and loved learning about the universe and the possibilities that lay beyond it. His curiosity, imagination, and appreciation for the worlds, both real and fictional, beyond our own were a meaningful part of who he was.
Beej was preceded in death by his parents Hilding and Avis Jackson.
He is survived by his brother Bernie (Jamie) Jackson, and sister Brenda (Jamie) Panger, nephew Micky (Victoria) Panger, nieces Baily Panger and Riley Panger; and great nephew Leo Panger.
Beej leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a place in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his kindness, his curiosity, his sense of humor, his love of stories and games, and those small, unmistakable things that made him uniquely Beej.
Though he left unexpectedly, the mark he made on the people around him will remain. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
