Lynn Marie Harms, of Cloquet, Minnesota, passed away on October 14th, 2026 at the age of 80.
Lynn was a playful, spirited woman who loved music, dancing, laughter, and a good game. Elvis Presley and Patsy Cline were among her favorites, and whether it was cards or board games, she was nearly impossible to beat. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for making people laugh.
She took great pride in her appearance and always looked her best from head to toe. She brought that same sense of style and attention to detail to her home, which was always beautifully decorated, especially for the holidays. She loved making things beautiful and had a special talent for creating a warm, welcoming place where everyone felt loved.
Above all, she adored her grandchildren. She delighted in their visits and had a way of making each of them feel special from the moment they walked through her door. She greeted them with enthusiastic compliments, warm hugs, and genuine curiosity about their lives, thoughts, and opinions. She was generous to a fault, sometimes offering someone the very coat off her back simply because they admired it.
She was an incredible hostess, always prepared with trays of candy and chocolates, her famous crazy cake, deviled eggs, and enough food to feed everyone twice over. There were summer afternoons spent eating watermelon on the porch, watching the grandchildren play in the water, and evenings filled with games, laughter, and old movies.
Christmas and Easter at her house were nothing short of magical. Every holiday was celebrated with beautiful decorations, beloved traditions, and thoughtful little touches. Her home was a place where imaginations flourished, where grandchildren could play dress-up, invent elaborate games, and feel like children no matter how old they became.
She was funny, playful, and sometimes wonderfully silly. Whether dramatically acting out Marilyn Monroe in a game of charades, expressing delight over a children’s toy commercial, or laughing until everyone else was laughing too, she knew how to make ordinary moments unforgettable.
Her grandchildren remember her warm hugs, her familiar clean, minty scent, her laughter, and the feeling that her home had been made special just for them. As her granddaughters described her, she was “the perfect grandma, a real grandma’s grandma.”
She is survived by her husband, Gary Harms; her daughter, Dana; her grandchildren, Lucy, Nola, and Michael; her twin sister, Lenore Van; her sister, Dawn Willemarck; her brother, Warren Lehet; and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her son, Keith Thomas; her grandson, Nicolas; her brother, Butch Lehet; and her parents, Alice and John Lehet.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place, and no funeral service will be held.
A special thanks to the staff at Interfaith Care Center in Cloquet and St. Croix Hospice.
She will be remembered for her playful spirit, her generosity, her laughter, and most of all, the love and joy she brought to the people who meant the most to her.
